A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for an Elementary School setting, focused on an ASD classroom serving students in grades K-3. This contract role begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the current school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction and support tailored to the unique learning needs of seven students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff, to ensure comprehensive student progress
- Monitoring and documenting student achievements and challenges
- Creating a nurturing classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth
Qualifications or desired experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with children diagnosed with ASD, particularly in early elementary grades K-3
- Strong classroom management skills tailored to diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Effective communication skills for working closely with families and school staff
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individualized needs
