Pay Rate: $100,000 - 135,000

Scope of Work: 

Conduct independent quality evaluations, audits, and compliance assessments of fire and life safety systems installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance activities. Interpret contractual requirements and applicable codes to ensure work performed by fire technicians meets all regulatory and performance standards.

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform technical quality audits and field evaluations of fire alarm, fire suppression, and life safety systems work performed by technicians and subcontractors.
  • Interpret and apply applicable codes and standards (e.g., NFPA) to determine compliance and identify deficiencies.
  • Evaluate installation, inspection, and testing activities for adherence to contract requirements, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory standards.
  • Exercise independent judgment in determining acceptability of work and recommending corrective actions, rework, or escalation.
  • Analyze inspection findings and system performance data to identify trends, risks, and systemic issues.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports outlining deficiencies, compliance status, and recommended resolutions to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of fire/life safety QA/QC procedures, inspection protocols, and compliance standards.
  • Utilize CMMS and related systems (e.g., Maximo) to track deficiencies, monitor technician performance, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Provide technical guidance to fire technicians and project teams regarding code interpretation and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subcontractors to resolve complex compliance issues and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Review and interpret contract documents, drawings, and system designs to ensure accurate application of fire protection standards.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the level of technical expertise and independent judgment required.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • NICET Level II certification in Fire Alarm Systems (or applicable fire protection discipline).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in fire alarm, fire protection systems, or life safety systems inspection, testing, or installation.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable NFPA codes and fire/life safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical codes, contract requirements, and system designs independently.
  • Experience evaluating technician or subcontractor work and making recommendations impacting compliance and system acceptance.
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance (Secret required; Top Secret preferred, as applicable to contract).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with work order systems such as Maximo preferred. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or desk. 
  • Frequent use of hands for typing, data entry, and handling paperwork. 
  • This position is primarily performed in an office setting; however, regular site visits and field inspections are required. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate active work sites when necessary. This may include standing, walking, bending, or climbing for extended periods while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
