Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the sterile and accurate admixture of IV products under a laminar flow hood or vertical flow biological safety cabinet. Responsibilities include the reconstitution of drugs, calculation of drug volumes, measurement of dosages, and transferring drugs to appropriate solutions for administration. The role requires effective communication with pharmacists, nurses, pharmacy technicians, dietitians, billing, and external customers to ensure accurate and safe patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and admix sterile IV products under laminar flow hoods or biological safety cabinets
- Reconstitute medications, calculate drug volumes, and measure accurate dosages
- Transfer drugs into appropriate solutions and label products per policy
- Maintain inventory of medications, solutions, and departmental supplies
- Operate automated compounding devices and track medication expiration dates
- Clean and maintain sterile compounding areas according to USP 797 standards
- Complete required documentation and adhere to pharmacy practice laws
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, dietitians, billing teams, and external customers
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Washington State Pharmacy Technician License & Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Professional communication skills with stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Team-oriented attitude with initiative
- Comfortable asking questions and seeking help when needed
- National certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required within 6 months of hire
Preferred Skills
- IV compounding experience
- Proficiency in aseptic technique
- Knowledge of USP 797 guidelines
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Full-time position where you’ll work at the full scope of your pharmacy technician license without direct patient interaction. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive environment with room for pay increases as you gain experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
