Job DescriptionEducation Behavior Consultants (EBC) is looking for a strong, school-based Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team in the Berkeley area. We are especially looking for someone who is confident, proactive, and experienced supporting students with behavioral needs in school settings.
This role is a great fit for someone who can walk into a classroom, build rapport, stay calm under pressure, collaborate well with school staff, and provide meaningful behavioral support with professionalism and consistency. We are looking for someone who is not only clinically solid, but also a true self-starter. Someone who does not wait to be told every next step, but can think critically, communicate clearly, and jump in with purpose.

What you’ll do:
- Provide direct 1:1 behavioral support to students in school settings
- Implement behavior intervention plans and support strategies with consistency
- Use reinforcement, prompting, behavior reduction strategies, and skill-building techniques in real time
- Collect accurate session data and complete documentation in a timely manner
- Collaborate with school staff, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members
- Support students with regulation, communication, transitions, classroom participation, and social/emotional needs
- Maintain professionalism in fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable school environments
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with students with behavioral needs in a school setting
- RBT credential preferred
- Experience implementing behavior plans and working under BCBA supervision
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to stay composed, flexible, and solutions-focused
- A high level of professionalism, accountability, and follow-through
- Someone who is warm, coachable, and team-oriented, but also able to work independently and take initiative
Preferred qualifications:
- Current RBT certification
- Experience supporting students in public school or special education settings
- Familiarity with behavior intervention plans, data collection, and classroom-based support
- Experience working with a range of behavioral presentations, including students with more intensive support needs
