Assistant Professor of Nephrology

Job Description

The University of Miami Health System is initating a search for an Assistant Professor of Clinical Nephrology.

Essential Job Functions:

• Patients in the outpatient clinic setting, with some service in the continuity clinics at Jackson Memorial Hospital possible.
• Coverage of inpatient consult coverage in multiple hospital venues, weekend on-call services, and dialysis unit attending.
• Participate in the educational and training activities of the nephrology and medicine programs providing.
• Independent coverage of inpatient consults and concurrent care at JMH and UMH.
• Will be assigned evening, weekend and holiday call proportionate to other physicians
• Teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students as necessary.
• Will be assigned proportionate level outpatient clinics at UHealth locations .

Qualifications:

• MD/DO Degree Required
• ACGME US Internal Medicine Residency
• Board certified/board eligible in the subspecialty of nephrology
• Expertise in clinical care, teaching, and research
• Completed 2-year ACGME US Nephrology Fellowship
• Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology (or board eligible)
• Valid Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing)
• Valid DEA licensure
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required
