Terms of Employment:

• Contract, W2, 24-months

• This is an on-site role, requiring daily presence at our client’s office in Oakbrook Terrace, IL or project sites

• 8 hours a day, M-F role with a flexible start time between 7am-9am


Overview


Join our client’s Transmission Substation & Business Projects team as a Mid-level Project Manager, where you will be instrumental in connecting large, sophisticated customers like Meta and Google to our utility system. This hands-on role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and engineering to property procurement, easements, and construction. You will collaborate extensively with a team of 20 project managers and external stakeholders, ensuring the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects. We are seeking a technically strong project manager with a background in utilities, particularly substations or generation, who thrives in an on-site, dynamic environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage large-scale customer projects to facilitate connections to the client’s system.

• Facilitate and coordinate large project teams through all phases, including planning, engineering, property procurement, easements, and construction.

• Collaborate extensively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Drive projects through to successful construction completion.


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5-10 years in project management experience.

• Strong utility background, with experience in substation, wind farm, or generation projects.

• Ability to work on-site daily at the office or project site.

• Experience in leading projects through engineering design, permitting, procurement, construction, and close-out phases.

• Demonstrated experience working on complex infrastructure projects.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

• Experience with customer-facing project management for large, sophisticated clients.

• Familiarity with utility field work.
