POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: To provide direct and consult services to youth who receive Residential Services at Spaulding Academy and Family Services. This individual will work alongside Behavioral Health Supervisors and Coordinators to deliver exemplary services to students served at Spaulding Academy & Family Services using a data-based decision-making model. Behavioral staff engage in an interdisciplinary approach with medical staff, residential staff, community-based school staff and other related service providers to produce positive outcomes for challenging children and youth. There are opportunities to work with a variety of behavioral presentations including children with emotional and behavioral disorders, intellectual disabilities, trauma-related disorders, and children with autism spectrum disorders.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below are the essential functions of this position. Successful job applicants will be able to perform these essential functions with or without a requested reasonable accommodation.

· Carries a caseload of up to 12 students across 1-2 cottages in residential care.

· Provide direct and consult services as outlined in treatment plans as well as completing skill and/or behavior-based assessments for each student.

· Serve as the Primary Service Provider when the student’s primary needs are related to behavior. This includes guiding the internal team and residential staff from a behavioral perspective by offering professional consultation and reviewing documentation to ensure consistency and cohesion.

· Conduct functional assessments and/or analyses and develop behavior intervention plans as needed.

· Monitor progress through electronic data collection and reports for students on caseload.

· Completes session notes for direct and consult services according to policy requirements as well as contributes to team documents to include treatment plans, monthly reports, court reports, psych reviews, and discharge reports.

· Coordinate with Permanency Specialists, Clinicians, and other team members to ensure consistent communication with parents/guardians and collaterals.

· Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including Clinicians, Residential, and Health Services, regarding treatment planning and recommendations appropriate to the residential settingto include the community academic arena if applicable.

· Participate in case management activities as needed to ensure that each child’s needs are being met according to the treatment plan within state and federal regulations and CARF requirements.

· Maintain working knowledge of progress, needs, and plans for all students on caseload.

· Have working knowledge of evidence-based practice and be able to support staff in implementing applicable techniques.

· Participate in necessary meetings including treatment team meetings, court hearings, matching meetings, and departmental meetings as appropriate.

· Consult with staff and external agencies regarding appropriate support and behavioral services for assigned students.

· Understand best practice related to services for students with a range of challenges including autism, neurological impairments, behavioral difficulties, emotional disabilities, learning and developmental disabilities and complex developmental trauma.

· Understand and facilitate staff concepts for evidence-based practices related to the science of Behavior Analysis.

· Participate in ongoing behavior analytic training related to improving treatment services for youth and their families and clinical competence.

· Participate in “Resource on Call” rotation as support for parents and staff in response to crisis situations.

· Provides exceptional customer service to students, their families and outside stakeholders.

· Monitors, screens and responds to all pertinent communication regarding case assignments in a timely fashion.

· Is familiar with Spaulding’s Safety program and adheres to all provisions of the written safety plan; Respectful of equipment and or working environment; Promotes an environment free from conduct that violates the right of others.

· Completes other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·Master’s Degree in Psychology, Education, or other related field that allows for behavioral services with youth and families.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification is a requirement. Relevant work experience and/or internship experience with similar population preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

: Strong clinical knowledge and judgment, organization skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The person will have good oral and written language skills as well as good computer skills

SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position where the hours are flexible in that it meets the needs of the student and the family. Primarily Monday through Friday with a minimum of 50% of time during business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and 50% of time during residential service hours (typically 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.). Participates in Resource On-Call rotation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job may be physically demanding and noisy alternating between office work and direct involvement with students. Will need to transition from building to building (exposed to the elements of the weather). May be exposed to offensive language from clients
