Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available at a K-12 school in Waterford, MI, for the 2023-2024 school year. This contract position runs from August 18th through June 12th and involves working with students of various ages within the special education program. The classroom size will vary based on enrollment numbers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Deliver instruction and support to students with diverse learning challenges across K-12 grade levels
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student progress and inclusion
- Monitor and document student performance and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Maintain a positive and safe classroom environment in an in-person setting
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learner needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
