Position Overview
The Controls Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various building control systems, including HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BMS). This role ensures the optimal performance and efficiency of building operations through effective control strategies and system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot HVAC control systems and Building Automation Systems (BMS)
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of control systems to ensure reliable operation
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to building control systems promptly
- Collaborate with other technicians and contractors to implement system upgrades and improvements
- Document all work performed, including system modifications and maintenance activities
- Provide technical support and training to clients and staff regarding system operations
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in building automation technology
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in controls systems, HVAC, or building automation
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and their control methodologies
- Experience with BMS software and troubleshooting methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
