Location: Dr. Bradley Smith & The Dream Sleep Center | Colorado Springs, CO (As needed in Pueblo)

Status: Contract-to-Hire

Flexible "Choose Your Own" Schedule

Compensation: Hourly Rate + Preceptor Stipend + 3rd Patient Bonus

The Role: Clinical Leader & Educator

Dr. Bradley Smith & The Dream Sleep Center isn't just looking for a tech to run studies; we are looking for a Master Technologist to anchor our lab and build the next generation of talent. You will have the autonomy to choose your nights, run pediatric, adult, Inspire cases, and serve as the primary Preceptor for our Sleep Techs-in-training.

The "Preceptor" Advantage

You will be compensated for your expertise in mentoring. We require a leader who:

  • Trains to the Board: Prepare trainees for the RPSGT/CPSGT exams through hands-on clinical instruction.
  • Audit-Ready Documentation: Complete a nightly "Preceptor Clinical Log" detailing specific competencies taught (e.g., electrode placement, troubleshooting Nox sensors, pediatric behavior management ect.).
  • Performance upside: "Success Bonus" tied to your students successfully passing their board exams.

Technical Mastery Required

  • Patient Mix: Pediatric (Ages 3+), Adult, MSLT, and Inspire (HGNS) Titrations.
  • Technology: Expert-level proficiency in NOX (A1) and Respironics ( Alice 6) equipment.
  • EMR/Software: Documentation in eClinicalWorks (eCW) and full Staging, Scoring, and Report Generation.
  • Capacity: Standard 2:1 ratio.
  • Optional 3rd patient (at your discretion) TBD Bonus

The Qualifications

  • Active RPSGT with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Pediatric Expert: Experience with children under 6.
  • Proven Mentor: Previous experience as a Lead Tech or Clinical Instructor preferred.
  • Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills and a "teaching heart."

Bonus Structure: The "Graduation Payoff"

TBD compensation:

  • The "Pass" Bonus: A one-time bonus for every student who passes their RPSGT board exam on the first attempt after training under you.


Job Description

Purpose: Evaluate and manage patients' sleep and other medical issues, so that they can achieve better lives through great sleep.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform setup and run the study of polysomnography (PSG’s) on all age groups
  • Accurate scoring of PSG’s
  • Have a working knowledge of the various types of PSG’s, application of CPAP, BiPAP, and ASV.
  • Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs (Physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history), and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols
  • Complete and verify documentation
  • Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient
  • Testing Preparation Procedures
  • Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary.
  • Verify patient video recording(s) is operating properly per laboratory standard protocol
  • Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
  • Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and adjust as necessary.
  • Perform positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues. Perform routine and complex equipment care and maintenance
  • Evaluate sleep study related equipment and inventory
  • Maintain current CPR or BCLS certification
  • Demonstrate effective written and spoken communication skills
  • Demonstrate appropriate social and professional skills
  • Respond to study participant’s procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate information.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy.
  • Comply with the ASSM Standards of Conduct
  • Coach and lead sleep tech trainees through their journey to become a RPSGT.
