Job DescriptionRegistered Nurse - PACU, 36 hours
This role focuses on delivering expert nursing care within the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), collaborating with various departments to ensure patient recovery and safety. The RN is responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality, adhering to professional nursing standards, and may need to hold several certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or specific unit qualifications. Physical requirements include extended periods of standing and the capability to lift up to 50 lbs while assisting with patient care.

Employing the nursing process, this position provides comprehensive patient care. The RN is accountable for the care delivered to assigned patients and assesses the overall effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers. Coordination of patient care with other departments is essential. The RN upholds patient rights and ensures the confidentiality of patient information. Responsibilities are carried out in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.
Position Details:Qualifications:
- Education: Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure, meeting all state board of nursing requirements.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
- Additional certifications may be required based on the specific position/unit, including but not limited to:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift.
- Capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job duties.
