The Shop Foreman will lead a medium-sized team of 6-15 members within a metal fabrication environment, overseeing multiple shifts to ensure efficient and safe shop operations. This role focuses on supervising workflow, maintaining quality standards, coordinating inventory, and upholding safety compliance without requiring travel to other sites.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate team activities across multiple shifts
- Manage workflow to optimize productivity and meet deadlines
- Ensure quality control standards are consistently met
- Oversee safety compliance and enforce shop safety protocols
- Manage inventory and order materials as needed
- Maintain and monitor equipment for proper operation
- Provide training and development for team members
- Perform employee reviews as needed
- Prepare reports on production, safety, and performance metrics
- Resolve operational and personnel issues efficiently
- Create and adjust work schedules to align with production needs
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in manufacturing or shop operations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of shop floor management and equipment operation
- Familiar with production tools and inspection
- Familiarity with safety standards compliance and inventory control
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Effective problem-solving and communication abilities
- Good time management capabilities
