Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to work as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) within a dynamic K-12 school setting. Located in Mechanicsville, VA, this onsite role supports students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, providing valuable assistance in speech language pathology services throughout the school year on a contract basis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting licensed speech language pathologists in delivering speech and language services to students across various grade levels
- Supporting individualized education plans (IEPs) by implementing therapeutic activities and tracking student progress
- Collaborating with educators and other staff to promote effective communication strategies
- Maintaining accurate documentation and confidentiality in line with school district policies
Qualifications and experience required:
- Valid Virginia SLPA license is mandatory
- Experience working within K-12 educational environments is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and school personnel
- Ability to manage a caseload that spans multiple age groups, including elementary, middle, and high school students
Work schedule and location details:
- Full-time position with 37.5 hours per week onsite
