Position Overview

The Vendor Manager at Total Frac Solutions (TFS) is responsible for overseeing and managing relationships with external vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery, cost efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals in the upstream oil and gas sector. This role involves conducting quality audits, negotiating pricing, managing service quality events, establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and maintaining final approval authority over vendor usage and additions to the Approved Vendor List (AVL). This position is based in Midland, TX, at TFS’s service base, supporting frac operations in the Permian Basin and beyond. Https://totalfracsolutions.com/about/

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent service quality and reliability for frac operations.

Quality Audits: Conduct regular audits to assess vendor performance, compliance with industry standards, and adherence to contractual obligations.

Price Negotiations: Negotiate pricing and contract terms with vendors to achieve cost-effective agreements while maintaining quality standards.

Service Quality Event Management: Investigate and resolve all service quality issues, ensuring timely corrective actions and minimal disruption to operations.

KPI Development and Monitoring: Establish, track, and analyze vendor performance KPIs to drive continuous improvement and accountability.

Vendor Approval and AVL Management: Hold final approval authority for vendor usage and oversee the process for adding new vendors to the Approved Vendor List (AVL).

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams (e.g., procurement, operations, and finance) to align vendor performance with TFS’s objectives of reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective frac solutions.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor performance, reliability, and compliance in oil and gas operations.

Reporting: Prepare and present reports on vendor performance, cost savings, and service quality metrics to senior management.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related role within the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record in quality assurance and contract negotiations.

Skills:

- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

- Knowledge of oil and gas industry operations, particularly frac operations and surface solutions.

- Analytical skills for evaluating vendor performance and KPIs.

- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, or vendor management software).

- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Knowledge: Familiarity with oil and gas industry standards, quality management systems, and vendor compliance requirements.

Preferred Competencies

- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities tailored to the oil and gas sector.

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

- Experience with vendor management software or CRM platforms.

Work Environment

- Full-time position based in Midland, TX, with 50% travel for vendor site visits or audits in the Permian Basin.

- Collaborative office and field setting with regular interaction with internal teams and external vendors supporting frac operations.
