Job Overview:

The Construction Equipment Coordinator serves as the key field representative, responsible for the acceptance, inspection, and compliance verification of all third-party construction equipment entering operating areas. This role is essential for ensuring that contractor equipment meets all policies, standards, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) leadership.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Independently verify that third-party equipment meets cleanliness and mechanical integrity requirements before granting entry into operating areas.
  • Review construction permits and stipulations; enforce adherence to regulatory permit conditions.
  • Validate that contractor inspection programs and documentation meet company standards and best practices.
  • Perform ad hoc inspections and jobsite walk-downs to confirm ongoing compliance with standards.
  • Maintain detailed logs and tracking tools for inspected, staged, in-use, and out-of-service equipment.
  • Coordinate and track training of contractor personnel in the use of fuel dispensing equipment.
  • Lead and participate in HSE activities, including toolbox and safety meetings, THA/JHA reviews, and Behavior Based Safety (BBS) observation systems.
  • Support and implement the Incident Free Culture (IFC) program in collaboration with contractors.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to prioritize inspections according to the project schedule and work scope.
  • Recognize safe work execution and provide feedback to contractors and team members.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support safe and compliant equipment utilization.


Skills and Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanics, fleet management, heavy-duty equipment sales and delivery, or equipment operation.
  • At least 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); 1 year with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work remotely on rotational assignments.
  • Ability to perform physical inspections, including kneeling, sitting, or crawling under equipment.
  • Capable of working outdoors in inclement weather.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years as a light-duty or heavy-duty mechanic.
  • More than 3 years of experience with equipment use or maintenance in Arctic conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous improvement.


Job Details:

  • Location: Remote work supporting operating areas near Anchorage, Alaska
  • Compensation: $52.28/hr
  • Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation.
