Job Title: Payroll & Timekeeping Specialist
Location: New York, NY 10004
Duration: 9 Weeks (Contract)
Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $40/hour
Position Overview
A leading organization in New York, NY is seeking a Payroll & Timekeeping Specialist to support payroll operations and serve as a liaison between facility staff and the payroll team. This role focuses on resolving employee payroll inquiries, assisting with timekeeping processes, and ensuring accurate payroll preparation and reconciliation.
The ideal candidate will have experience with timesheet processing, payroll preparation, and enterprise payroll systems, along with strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the Payroll Ambassador, serving as the liaison between facility staff and the Payroll department.

Assist employees with timesheet preparation, review, and reconciliation.

Support payroll preparation and processing activities.

Respond to and resolve employee payroll and timekeeping inquiries in a timely manner.

Use enterprise systems, reports, policies, and ServiceNow to troubleshoot payroll issues.

Complete payroll and timekeeping forms and escalate complex cases when necessary.

Assist employees with Employee Self-Service (ESS) and client system navigation.

Collaborate with Payroll and HR teams to resolve issues and maintain payroll accuracy.

Provide backup support for the Payroll Shared Services Call Center when required.

Stay updated on payroll policies, procedures, and system updates through ongoing training.

Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience in timesheet preparation and reconciliation.

Minimum 1 year of payroll preparation experience.

Experience using relevant payroll or timekeeping software systems.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
