Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is looking to hire a School Mental Health Clinician to join our staff and work in an amazing school! Qualifications:
- Hold a degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology and possess (or are eligible for) Vermont state licensure as a School Counselor.
- Have a deep understanding of child/adolescent development, trauma-informed practices, and mental health disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Direct Therapeutic Support: Providing individual and group counseling rooted in evidence-based frameworks such as CBT, DBT, and ACT.
- Crisis Management: Responding to and managing student crises by conducting risk assessments and following district protocols.
- Special Education Advocacy: Participating in the development of IEPs, providing progress reports, and adjusting clinical interventions to meet regulatory standards like IDEA and Section 504.
- Family & Community Partnership: Maintaining frequent, proactive communication with families to share strategies and connect them with vital community resources.
