Position Summary
The CBI Therapist works to assist individuals with mental illness to reach a higher level of independence.? The therapist works directly with children, adolescents, or family groups to provide individualized treatment in dealing with issues associated with mental and emotional health. He/she is responsible for the facilitation of the client’s transition to independence; endorsement and application of community resources and the provision of information and referral services including mental health resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for providing clinical services as outlined by the policies and procedures of Hillcrest Children and Family Center

Completes assessments, intake evaluations, outpatient assessments, person-centered treatment plans, family/individual therapy; and assists in program development and implementation.

Provide the professional expertise necessary to make determinations regarding patient eligibility.

Provides evidence-based psychotherapy for clients who present with various concerns.

Make recommendations related to the care needs regarding the clients’ health and safety.

Develops safety plan with the input of youth, family, and all stakeholders.

Educates the family about CBI services and role of CBI clinicians and CBI team.

Participates in CBI required training curriculum.

Remains flexible to schedule sessions around youth and family’s availability.

Facilitate discharge team meeting including all stakeholders.

Participate in individual and group supervision as scheduled.
Educational Requirements
-
Master’s degree in social work, psychology or related discipline is required.

Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work (LICSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Psychologist (PSY) in District of Columbia
