Job Title: Sanitation Associate (Product Service Support Technician)
Job Description
The Sanitation Associate (Product Service Support Technician) maintains a clean, safe, and compliant environment in a laboratory or animal care facility while supporting animal care activities, material handling, and general facility operations. This full-time role works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and plays a key part in ensuring cleanliness, organization, and reliable support for daily facility functions.
Responsibilities
- Clean and change animal cages and associated equipment according to established procedures and standards.
- Assist with animal enrichment by preparing and maintaining clean enrichment materials and supplies.
- Support deliveries from internal and external sources, including receiving, organizing, and moving materials as needed.
- Stock, rotate, and store supplies to ensure appropriate inventory levels and proper organization.
- Construct various transport boxes and containers used for animals, samples, and equipment.
- Use loading and transporting equipment such as carts and pallet trucks to move cages, supplies, and other materials safely.
- Support the transport and dispatch of animal shipments, samples, equipment, and consumables within and from the facility.
- Provide general housekeeping services, including sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, and maintaining clean offices and production areas.
- Perform waste management tasks, including waste collection, disposal, and treatment in accordance with facility procedures.
- Operate decontamination and sanitation equipment, including power washers and other cleaning systems, as needed.
- Follow sterile entry procedures and maintain neat, clean, and safe conditions throughout the facility.
- Accurately record and maintain detailed logs and records related to cleaning, sanitation, and material handling activities.
- Work collaboratively as a member of the sanitation and facility support team to meet daily operational goals.
Essential Skills
- Experience in a sanitation, janitorial, housekeeping, custodial, or general labor role.
- Experience with cleaning, including tasks such as sweeping, scrubbing, power washing, wipedowns, and general clean-up.
- Experience cleaning pet or animal cages in a professional or structured environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and consistently throughout the shift.
- Ability to follow sterile entry procedures and maintain neat, clean, and safe conditions.
- Skills to accurately record, calculate, and maintain detailed records and logs.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
- English communication skills, including reading, writing, and oral communication, sufficient to follow procedures and document work.
- Comfort working in a cleanroom, laboratory, or production-style environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, and repetitive motion for the duration of the shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in janitorial, housekeeping, custodial, or similar sanitation-focused positions.
- Experience working in clean offices, production areas, or cleanroom environments.
- Familiarity with waste management, waste disposal, and waste treatment procedures.
- Experience using cleaning agents, decontamination systems, and sanitation equipment.
- Comfort working around animals in a laboratory or animal care facility setting (without direct handling).

Work Environment
This role operates in a laboratory or animal care facility setting with regular exposure to animals (without touching or handling them), cleaning agents, and sanitation equipment. The position requires standing, lifting, and repetitive motion throughout the shift, as well as frequent use of carts, pallet trucks, and decontamination systems. Work takes place in cleanroom, office, and production-style areas where adherence to sterile entry procedures, safety protocols, and cleanliness standards is essential. Attire aligns with a professional laboratory and sanitation environment, including appropriate protective clothing and equipment as required by facility procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
