Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Seeking a skilled Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) students to provide instruction within a K-12 educational setting. This contract role is based in San Francisco, CA, and offers an opportunity to support the academic and social development of students with hearing impairments throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, utilizing appropriate methodologies and assistive technologies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists and audiologists, to create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and munication.
- Provide parent and staff training related to hearing loss and educational acmodations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credential with specialization or certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience teaching students across the K-12 spectrum with hearing impairments.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and assistive hearing devices.
- Ability to design and implement prehensive lesson plans aligned with state standards.
- Strong munication and collaboration skills.
