Job DescriptionEmergency Department Registered Nurse Overview:
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is dedicated to delivering patient-focused care through the nursing process while upholding professional accountability. This position requires collaboration with various departments to ensure optimal patient care, while strictly adhering to patient confidentiality and institutional guidelines. Candidates must possess the necessary nursing licensure and certifications, including Basic Life Support, along with any additional specialized certifications as dictated by unit requirements.

This role involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for maintaining professional accountability for the care provided to assigned patients and assessing the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers. Coordination of patient care with other departments is essential, as is the protection of patient rights and confidentiality. Position Details:Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current RN license in the state of employment or possess compact licensure, meeting all state board of nursing requirements.
- Experience: Relevant experience in a nursing role is preferred.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
- Additional certifications may be required based on the specific unit, including but not limited to:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as necessary
Physical Requirements:
- The role necessitates the ability to regularly push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and walking are required throughout each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat is essential for performing job duties.
