Clinic Reception and Patient Coordinator
Immediate Opportunity for a mature clinical receptionist with 3 years of experience to manage the front desk in a successful optometry practice. Ideal candidate must be able to efficiently manage the daily book of appointments including scheduling, verifying insurance benefits, coordinating care with outside clinics, and insuring patient paperwork completed and input in the health record correctly. This position also handles copays and coinsurance, and may also include minor optical sales and dispensing including contact lens dispensing as needed and maintaining a positive atmosphere and attitude during busy times with patients. Full-time position, salary contingent upon experience.
We provide patients with the absolute best in quality eye care, and as a part of our team, you would perform tasks necessary for patients to proceed to an exam with our optometrist, and follow up with them afterwards. You greet each patient with a friendly and professional demeanor and convey the confidence, knowledge, and attention to detail that our patients have come to trust. Our ideal candidate has prior experience in an optometry practice. Knowledge of health insurance billing processes and electronic health records is a plus; a willingness to learn is necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide superb customer service to every patient, whether in person, over the phone, or in emails
- Operate and multiline phone system and electronic health record system
- Handle cash and card transactions in a professional manner
- Multitask while maintaining close attention to detail
- Clean and sterilize equipment as necessary
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Prior experience in an optometry environment (preferred)
- Working knowledge of optical diagnostic equipment
- Friendly demeanor and professional appearance
