Our Accounting Manager manages all the financial aspects of our commercial and development projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, capable of managing budgets, forecasting financial outcomes, and ensuring the financial health of our company. Must demonstrate strong collaboration and leadership capabilities coupled with outstanding organization and time management skills. This position reports directly to the President of Garden City Construction and the Vice-President of the Affiliate Company: Buccaneer Demolition. We have been in business for over 37 years and have a team of about 40 employees. MUST HAVE CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE 4+YEARS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION!
We are seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Manager that is motivated to join our team of approximately 40 employees. We are an expert in restoration of historic buildings and unique projects that require creativity and the ability to “think out of the box”. We have been in business over 37 years. Our reputation is well known in the industry.
Job Summary
Our Construction Accounting Manager manages all the financial aspects or our commercial and development projects. This role requires a detailed-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, capable of managing budgets, forecasting financial outcomes and ensuring the financial health of our companies. Must demonstrate strong collaboration and leadership capabilities coupled with outstanding organization and time management skills.
This position reports to the President of Garden City Construction and Vice President of the Affiliate Company: Buccaneer Demolition.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle payroll, AP, AR, and maintain vendor relations with American Contractor software.
- Oversee job costing, monthly billings, change orders, collections, and financial reporting in collaboration with Project Managers and CPA.
- Lead month-end closings, bank reconciliations and WIP statements.
- Maintain compliance with prevailing wage requirements if applicable, and oversee lien rights management.
- Prepare weekly cash reports.
- Prepare and present financial and operational reports, including cash flow and aging summaries to the CPA.
- Coordinate internal controls, audits and insurance renewals to mitigate risks.
- With assistance from HR consultant, supervise HR functions including, hiring, terminations, benefit renewals and employee records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus, 4 years’ construction experience.
- Proficient in American Contractor software or equal, and possess advanced Excel skills.
- Strong organizational, communication and leadership skill.
- Experience in construction accounting and familiarity with labor compliance and lien processes preferred.

Compensation/Benefits
$110,00 - $120,000
