Job DescriptionOccupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Torrington is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide full-time coverage during an upcoming FMLA leave. This position offers the opportunity to work with students across the district, supporting a diverse caseload ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade.

Location: Torrington, Connecticut

Start Date: August 27, 2026

Duration: Approximately 12 weeks, with potential for extension

Schedule: Full-Time, approximately 7–7.5 hours per day, 35-37.5 per week

Setting: District-Wide

Interview Process: Virtual

About the Opportunity

The selected candidate will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans, support student goals, document progress, and collaborate with educational teams. This role provides exposure to a wide range of student needs and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple school settings.

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut COTA License (CT DPH) and/or successful completion of the NBCOT Exam

• School-based experience preferred

• Experience working with pediatric populations and diverse learning needs is highly valued

• Reliable transportation required, as services will be provided throughout the district
