Major Areas of Accountability and Essential Job Duties:

1. Examine, analyze, and interpret timecards to prepare weekly payroll and verify employee information when compared to Foreman reports. Contact employees by phone, e-mail, or in-person conversations when discrepancies arise.

2. Ensure that all employees are paid according to current standing union agreements, federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Ensure that all employees are paid per their position and job task within the company. Verify hours worked match with Foreman report.

3. Collect and record all employee time cards. Verify hour count and task assignment for each employee daily when compared to Foreman reports. Enter data into computerized payroll system for employee pay by weekly pay period deadline.

4. Issue weekly paychecks and paystubs to all employees via their request for direct deposit or hard check.

5. Collaborate with Human Resources and other staff to maintain accurate employee records including but not limited to: new hires, terminations, vacation, sick/personal leave, location, job number, etc.

6. Assist in collecting and completing new hire paperwork and entering the new employee into the computerized payroll system. Remove employees from the computerized payroll system as necessary due to lay-offs, terminations, or leaves of absence.

7. Issue payment for taxes and file tax reports as required (i.e., weekly, quarterly).

8. Perform year end tax payroll tax functions including but not limited to W-2 paperwork.

9. Remain knowledgeable about regulations relating to federal/state/local taxes, deductions, and union agreements. Maintain accurate data and information relating to updated regulations in the computerized payroll system.
