Role Description

The Warehouse Material Handler is a full-time, on-site role based in San Jose, CA, responsible for supporting the efficient movement and storage of materials and finished goods. Day-to-day responsibilities include receiving inbound shipments, unloading trucks, verifying quantities against documentation, and moving materials to designated storage locations. The role involves accurately picking, packing, and staging orders for outbound shipments, as well as preparing items for safe and secure transport. The Material Handler will assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and maintaining accurate records in warehouse systems. This position also requires operating material handling equipment in a safe manner, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and collaborating with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet schedules and quality standards.


  • Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and move materials within or between departments using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other handling equipment.
  • Receive incoming materials, verify quantities against purchase orders, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
  • Stage materials for production work orders and maintain accurate material transactions in the ERP system.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare finished goods for shipment per customer and carrier requirements.
  • Maintain organized and clean warehouse areas, including racking, staging, and shipping/receiving zones.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
  • Follow proper lifting techniques and adhere to all safety and PPE requirements.
  • Communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and production leads to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or safety hazards promptly.
  • Support other warehouse and logistics activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED required).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience.
  • Valid forklift certification (stand-up and/or sit-down forklift experience preferred).
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Basic computer literacy and experience with ERP or inventory systems (SAP, NetSuite, or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and teamwork.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.

Compensation:

  • $22-$26 hourly, based on skills and experience.
