Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lathe HAAS Machinist (Set-up & Program) to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating HAAS CNC lathes to produce precision parts that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling, and measurement will ensure efficient production processes and top-quality outputs. Duties
- Set up HAAS CNC lathes, including installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Program CNC lathes using G-code, CAM programming software, and CAD models to produce complex components with precision
- Operate CNC lathe machines safely and efficiently, monitoring machining processes for quality and adherence to specifications
- Conduct routine inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM a plus) to verify part dimensions
- Troubleshoot machine issues, perform minor repairs, and adjust programs or tooling as needed to optimize production
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate manufacturing
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols and lean manufacturing principles
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC lathe machinist with proficiency in setting up and programming HAAS machines with 4 years minimum experience.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and CAM software for toolpath creation
- Familiarity with GD&T standards, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawings for precise manufacturing
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances
- Knowledge of tooling selection and management for machining operations
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement in production processes
Important
- All candidates will be tested during the interview process and 90-day probationary period to verify skills and experience
Schedule
- 4–10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday with some optional Fridays or Saturdays depending on work load
