As an RN in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will work in a dynamic, high-acuity setting with both adult and pediatric patients undergoing a broad range of surgical procedures, including general, plastics, GI, robotics, ortho, and more. Experience the benefits of collaborating with expert clinicians, including anesthesiologists, hospitalists, and a supportive nursing team, all while expanding your clinical experience in a Level II Trauma Center. Exposure to diverse cases and leadership styles will help you grow your skills and boost your resume, setting the stage for future career advancement.
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday – Friday, set schedule
- No weekends or call
- Up to 4 days of approved RTO
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- CAPA or CPAN certification (will accept either)
- Minimum of 2 years’ Phase I/II PACU experience (will consider first-time travelers with extensive PACU background)
- Strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, cardiac gtt management, and providing discharge instructions
- Experience recovering post-cath, bronch, or IR patients is highly preferred
- Proficiency with EMR (EPIC), IV pumps (Alaris), and Pyxis
Role Responsibilities:
- Recover post-operative patients in both Phase I and II
- Care for a variety of surgical cases across age groups
- Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment focused on high-quality, patient-centered outcomes
- Float between Main and East PACU as needed
- Uphold a team-focused approach where support among colleagues is key
