Attending Physician; Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (2027)
Job Description
Job Description
Planning for Summer 2027? Escape "corporate medicine" before you even start.
At High Rock Internal Medicine, we are looking for a forward-thinking Internal Medicine Attending to join our mission in Summer 2027. While the large hospital systems are focused on quarterly quotas, we are focusing on our long-term legacy. Founded in 2000 by Dr. Stephen Hsieh, our independent practice is a haven for the underserved and the medically complex. Here, you aren’t just a provider; you are a future pillar of the community.
Why High Rock? The Independent Advantage
- True Clinical Autonomy: No "red tape." If you see a way to improve patient care, we implement it.
- Mission over Metrics: We specialize in caring for disadvantaged and complex populations. Your success is measured by patient impact, not just RVUs.
- Mentorship & Growth: Transition from residency with confidence. Dr. Hsieh provides weekly 1-on-1 coaching and a structured onboarding ramp.
- Partnership Track: A clear 3–4 year path to ownership where partners typically earn 15–20% above base.
- Work-Life Harmony: No evenings, no weekends. Phone-only call (3–4 calls per week).
The Compensation & Benefits
- 1st Year Compensation: $180,000
- 2nd Year Potential: ~$190,000+
- Incentives: Productivity bonuses, quality incentives, and relocation support.
- The "Joy Fund": $500 annual stipend specifically for your personal hobbies/interests.
- Full Benefits: CME stipend, health/dental, malpractice coverage, short and long term disability, 401K after 12 months.
Your Role & Impact
As an Internal Medicine (or Med-Peds/FM) Physician, you will lead a collaborative team in an integrated biopsychosocial model.
- Integrated Care: Work alongside on-site behavioral health, radiology, and ultrasound teams.
- Broad Scope: Opportunity for joint injections, office derm, and podiatry if desired.
- Collaborative Culture: Join a stable team (average tenure 4–5 years) that values your voice in process improvement.
Living in the Piedmont Triad
Lexington offers the perfect "choose your own adventure" lifestyle:
- Urban Sophistication: Live in Winston-Salem (20 mins away) for arts, fine dining (Mozelle's, The Katherine), and nightlife.
- Rural Charm: Enjoy acreage and quiet living in Lexington or Thomasville.
- Family Friendly: Top-tier schools in Clemmons and Arcadia.
- Affordability: A cost of living 35–40% below the national average.
Qualifications
- MD/DO (Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, or Family Medicine).
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (Expected residency completion Summer 2027).
- A heart for community-minded, empathetic care.
"I founded this practice because I wanted the autonomy to care for patients with compassion and long-term commitment. Many of our patients have nowhere else to go—nothing is more meaningful than helping them begin a life-changing journey toward health." — Stephen Hsieh, MD
