Robotics Technician | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on robotic systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and software issues in industrial robots.
  • Install, calibrate, and test new robotic equipment and peripheral devices on the production floor.
  • Modify and optimize robot programs (e.g., path adjustments, logic changes) to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, sensors, controllers, and end-effectors.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to implement automation solutions and process improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and PLCs.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and perform minor modifications to robot programs.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and mechanical repair of automated machinery.
  • Associate's degree in Robotics, Automation, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, Fanuc iRVision)
  • Proficiency in Python or C++ for data analysis or advanced scripting
  • Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet)
  • Experience with preventative maintenance program development or predictive analytics
  • Basic CAD software proficiency for tooling or fixture design/modification
