Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vascular Technician to join our diagnostic imaging team. The ideal candidate will perform non-invasive vascular examinations using ultrasound and Doppler equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disorders. The Vascular Technician plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and accurate diagnostic support to physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of vascular ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to:
    • Carotid duplex
    • Venous and arterial duplex of the upper and lower extremities
    • Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening
    • Ankle-brachial index (ABI) studies
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort.
  • Use ultrasound and Doppler equipment to capture images and monitor blood flow in arteries and veins.
  • Analyze test results and compile findings for review by interpreting physicians.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and enter diagnostic information into electronic medical systems.
  • Adhere to all infection control and safety procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory, reporting any malfunctions or supply needs.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous education to stay updated on vascular diagnostic techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related healthcare field preferred.
  • Certification: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through ARDMS or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through CCI required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of vascular ultrasound experience preferred, but new graduates with strong clinical experience will be considered.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in vascular anatomy and physiology
    • Strong interpersonal and patient communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift or move patients and equipment as necessary
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate ultrasound equipment effectively

This will be a Per Diem, schedules will be discussed upon interview.
