Job DescriptionRegistered Nurse - Med Surg ICU (Nights) Overview:

This role involves delivering patient care in a medical-surgical intensive care unit during night shifts. The position requires the application of the nursing process and collaboration with various departments. Candidates must hold an active RN license, Basic Life Support certification, and may need additional specialized certifications based on the specific unit. The job necessitates physical stamina for extended periods of standing and lifting, while ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.

In this role, you will utilize the nursing process to deliver exceptional patient care. You will be accountable for the care provided to your assigned patients and will assess the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers. Coordination of patient care with other departments is essential. Upholding patient rights and maintaining confidentiality of patient information is a priority. Position Details:Qualifications:

  • Education: Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
  • Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure, meeting all state board of nursing requirements.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in nursing is preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
    • Additional certifications may be required based on the specific unit, including but not limited to:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
      • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
      • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
      • CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
      • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
      • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
      • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
      • C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
      • Other unit-specific certifications as necessary

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift.
  • Capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform job duties.
