Job DescriptionProject Engineer - Commercial Construction About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineer to join our construction team. This role is critical in supporting project managers and ensuring successful execution of commercial, industrial, and agricultural construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction projects from start to finish.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with design standards, safety regulations, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Support cost control efforts by tracking budgets, change orders, and material procurement.
  • Conduct site visits to verify work quality and adherence to project plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare progress reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in construction or engineering roles (commercial or industrial projects preferred).
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, codes, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with design/build projects.
  • Knowledge of roofing systems, coatings, and solar installations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes.
