Degree in Radiologic Technology, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification, and minimum 1+ years Imaging experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This contract opportunity is tailored for experienced cardiac sonographers skilled in general ultrasound imaging, including advanced echocardiography techniques. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), including 2D, Doppler, color flow, 3D, strain imaging, and contrast studies.
- Conduct stress echo, dobutamine stress echo, transesophageal echo (TEE), and nuclear cardiac evaluations.
- Manage IV lines and assist with interventional cardiac procedures as needed.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Utilize advanced ultrasound equipment from leading manufacturers (Philips, GE) and EMR systems such as EPIC.
- Participate in weekend rotations and support satellite care locations within the Wake region.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an echo technician or cardiac sonographer.
- Relevant certification such as RDCS (ARDMS), RCS, or ACS through CCI.
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
- Proficiency in stress echo and interventional procedure support is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced academic environment with a strong patient- and family-centered culture.
Schedule
- 5 to 8-hour shifts with optional 4x10-hour shifts for echo tech role.
- Weekend and holiday rotations based on unit needs, with no on-call requirements.
