Job Purpose

Builds machine assembly for manufacturers, who use them to manufacture products.

Primary Responsibilities

Machine Builder perform a wide range of duties such as:

• Fits and assembles components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, and knowledge of machine construction

• Analyzes assembly blueprint and specifications manual, and plans machine building operations

• Aligns components for assembly, manually or with hoist, screws, bolts, weld parts together

• Properly handle and safely use variety of hand power tools including but not limited to saws, grinders, sanders, drills, measuring instruments etc.

• Keep record of all incoming and outgoing shipments in the system

• Prepare and pack items, develop mailing labels and shipping documents and ensure that all have been filled correctly

• Ensure that incoming shipments and packages are checked and logged in and have shippers

• Provide all shippers to Purchasing Department

• Ensure all incoming shipments are sorted and put away in the proper area(s)

• Follows all safety requirements and communicates any safety concerns

• Perform and assist with other duties as assigned

• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and policies

Qualifications

• Must be able to focus and concentrate to ensure safety and quality of work

• Must be detailed oriented

• Proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, & Power Point), Outlook

• Trained and authorized to operate forklift

• Motivated with strong interpersonal skills

• Must be a team player, and contributes to building a positive environment

• Valid driver’s license and have or be able to acquire a valid passport

• Able to communicate clearly and effectively

• Must adhere to all company policies as communicated

• Ability to work over-time to meet project deadlines

• Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required

Education

High school diploma, technical certification or equivalent education required

Experience

Minimum of two years of machine build or technical experience

Work Conditions

This job operates in a shop environment, with daily exposure to machinery and potential non-hazardous chemicals and lubricants. Machine noise may escalate when testing.

Physical Requirements

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, and bending. Ability to lift components up to 50 lbs., with greater lifting requirements being done with an overhead crane, if needed. Requires moving around machines and tight spaces.

Direct Reports

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel

Traveling on-site to customers location may be required
