We are looking for board-certified or board-eligible neurohospitalists to become part of our expanding team of neurologists and neurohospitalists at our facility in Kansas City, MO.
Position Overview
- Inpatient Focus: This role is dedicated entirely to inpatient care, with responsibilities that include rotating at our comprehensive stroke center, supported by residents and advanced practice providers.
- Primary Stroke Centers: The neurohospitalist will also provide coverage for our busy primary stroke centers.
- Advanced Stroke Care: Our institution is recognized for delivering the most sophisticated stroke care in the region, treating over 4,000 patients annually with cutting-edge stroke-reversal therapies.
- Innovative Treatments: We have a rich history of pioneering both drug and mechanical interventions to mitigate the severe impacts of ischemic strokes, having conducted one of the first intra-arterial stroke reversal procedures globally in 1993.
- Academic Opportunities: As the primary teaching hospital for the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Medical School, there is potential for an academic appointment based on experience.
- Resident Education: Our neurology residency program offers three residents the chance to learn about diagnosing and treating complex neurological disorders in various care environments.
- Research Opportunities: We provide numerous research avenues and have a successful track record, with potential start-up funding available for driven candidates.
