Position Summary
The Call Center Operator is responsible for handling inbound and outbound calls, scheduling appointments, and serving as the first point of contact for patients. This is a full-time, in-office position with a mandatory six-month in-office training period. After six months, team members who meet performance and attendance expectations may be eligible for a hybrid or remote schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer high-volume inbound calls in a professional, courteous manner
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments
- Communicate clinic policies, preparation instructions, and appointment details
- Route calls to the appropriate department or provider
- Handle patient concerns with empathy and escalate issues when necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow HIPAA guidelines
- Accurately document all patient interactions and encounters
Qualifications
- Previous medical call center or healthcare office experience preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and basic computer systems
- Knowledge of insurance verification is a plus
