JOB SUMMARY:
The Utah Mammoth is seeking a Photography and Digital Media Intern for the upcoming 2025-26 NHL season. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about hockey and photography, and this internship aims to enhance the team's online presence and engage with its fan base through hands-on experience in digital media management and sports photography. The intern will work closely with the team photographer and marketing team to capture key moments at events, maintain the photography database, and support content updates on the team's website.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain Utah Mammoth’s photo database, including tagging and gallery management.
- Support Utah Mammoth team photographer with daily tasks and develop visual content that captures the spirit of the team, fans, and community.
- Assist with shooting high-quality photos during games and events for social media and website content.
- Generate fresh content ideas and suggest enhancements for the Utah Mammoth website.
- Aid in promoting team events and community initiatives through photography and website updates.
- Stay current with social media trends and apply knowledge to optimize content and strategy.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure content aligns with marketing objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recent college graduate or currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Proficiency in editing software (e.g., Photo Mechanic, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience in live-editing with Getty Images metadata knowledge preferred.
- Strong photography portfolio with a link to a website to be considered (must be a website and not social media accounts).
- Experience with a professional team or a university athletic department, or experience with a professional media outlet is preferred.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate and implement new ideas.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- This internship is limited to 30 hours per week.
- Passion for hockey and a general understanding of the sport is beneficial.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to communicate and express yourself both written and verbally.
- Must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
