Birmingham, AL / Full-time / Construction Engineering and Inspection (CE&I)

Sain Associates is seeking a CEI Project Manager to oversee inspection activities on transportation projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys construction inspection, client coordination, and working with state Department of Transportation.

On a typical day, you may review contractor shop drawings or proposed change orders, assist inspectors with interpreting specifications, coordinate with our design team, and prepare proposals for upcoming projects. You will also mentor inspectors, serve as a trusted advisor to the client, and encourage clear, honest dialogue with contractors.

What we are looking for

  • At least 2 years of Project Management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience on projects following DOT specifications
  • Strong understanding of highway construction projects per ALDOT specifications and procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with designers, inspectors, and contractors
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Experience with CAMMS
  • Strong client service focus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English
  • Valid Driver's License

Education & Licensure

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related degree is preferred
  • Preference is given to candidates who have two or more inspection certifications (QCI, ACI, NCAT, Traffic Control)

About the Team

Construction Engineering and Inspection (CE&I) is part of our Transportation Design team, which includes project managers, roadway engineers, and inspectors. Our CE&I team currently consists of eight professionals throughout the state of Alabama.

We provide services for a variety of on-call contracts and active construction sites throughout Alabama. Current projects include a multi-use trail, a road widening project, roundabouts, bridge construction, and other transportation improvements.
