Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in New Haven, Connecticut. In this role, you will handle essential accounting tasks, including reconciling accounts, processing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities:
• Sort, scan, and distribute incoming mail to appropriate departments.
• Process remote check deposits and manage credit card receipt transactions.
• Perform daily reconciliations of bank statements with the general ledger.
• Update and maintain daily cash deposit reports.
• Assist in preparing journal entries and accruals for financial records.
• Act as a backup for Accounts Payable processes, ensuring timely invoice handling.
• Provide support to Payroll operations as needed.
• Serve as a backup for Human Resources-related administrative tasks.
• Take on ad hoc responsibilities as required to support the team.• Previous experience in account reconciliation and accounts payable processes is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC) software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
• Ability to process invoices and manage cash deposits effectively.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate using Teams.
• Capacity to adapt and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
