Healthcare Financial Analyst
This position will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to help our company make informed investment, budgeting, and strategic decisions that optimize our profitability and manage financial risks.The individual in this role will play a pivotal role in steering business financial success by providing clear insights and forecasts that empower decision-makers to optimize investments, control costs, and seize growth opportunities effectively.
Core Responsibilities
- Analyze Historical and Current Financial Data: Review company financial statements, investment performance, and market trends to assess financial health and generate insights
- Financial Modeling and Forecasting: Create, maintain, and use financial models to predict future revenues, expenses, investment returns, and profitability under various scenarios
- Report Preparation and Presentation: Develop detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate financial findings, trends, and recommendations to management and stakeholders
- Investment and Risk Analysis: Evaluate investment opportunities such as stocks, bonds, and capital expenditures; assess financial risks and perform cost-benefit and ROI analyses to guide decisions
- Business and Market Research: Study industry trends, competitor performance, economic conditions, and regulatory environments to provide context and support for financial decisions
- Budgeting and Variance Analysis: Assist in preparing budgets, monitor actual vs. forecasted results, and identify areas where the company can improve cost efficiencies and revenue generation
- Collaboration with Departments: Work closely with accounting, operations, and other teams to ensure financial data accuracy and align financial goals across the organization
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards such as GAAP or IFRS, and prepare documentation required for audits, funding, or regulatory purposes
Additional Duties
- Provide ad hoc analysis or special financial studies as requests arise.
- Contribute to long-term strategic financial planning and participate in investor relations or financial communications.
Skills and Qualifications
Financial Analysts typically require:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related fields; advanced degrees or certifications like CFA or CPA preferred by not required
- Healthcare experience required
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, financial software (e.g., QuickBooks), and data visualization tools
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills to interpret complex data and deliver actionable recommendations
- Attention to detail, strategic thinking, the ability to work with large datasets, and time management skills
