Job Title: Loan Officer - West Texas
Summary:
The Loan Officer - West Texas is responsible for developing and maintaining a portfolio of quality commercial and consumer loans. They are accountable for originating new relationships, structuring loans, and leading the underwriting process. They work closely with the credit, loan operations, and servicing teams to maintain these relationships, while working to identify new opportunities.

- Participate in commercial business development activities with small to mid-sized business customers.
- Evaluate opportunities with effective and thorough relationship development, information gathering, and analysis of customer businesses; obtains all critical information to be used in decision making.
- Timely, accurate, and high-quality preparation of Loan Committee presentations following established guidelines and internal policies. Able to confidently present loan information to the committee and answer questions promptly and accurately.
- Analyze financial statements received on bank commercial loan customers. Work with Credit Analyst regarding analyses and spreads on individual, partnership, and corporate commercial loan customers.
- Conduct loan closings professionally and accurately. Ensure documentation is complete and all policies and guidelines are followed.
- Lead consumer lending in our West Texas markets.
- Completely understand required regulations and relevance to the loan portfolio; explain regulations to customers with clarity and professionalism.
- Conduct consistent effective on-site with existing customers to cross sell new business, collateral verification, and evaluation of existing credits.
- Works with Portfolio Managers and Loan Operations to effectively service existing credits to maintain portfolio integrity and quality. Promptly addresses any adverse credit situations with professionalism and tact and in the best interests of the bank. Ensure management is aware of potential risks as they arise.
- Promptly and accurately provide required information for Adversely-Rated loans and take appropriate steps to protect bank's position. Work with the Chief Lending Officer and credit team to implement strategies for work out of adverse credits where appropriate.
- Work effectively with the lending team and other bank staff regarding timely and accurate loan document preparation, customer contact and overall productivity.
- Understand and follow TransPecos Banks' Loan Policy as well as all established lending procedures and guidelines regarding the loan portfolio.

Qualifications:
Required Knowledge/Skills:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Economics. MBA preferred.
- Excellent Communication Skills (interpersonal, presentation, and writing)
- Strong Time Management & Organizational Skills
Desired Knowledge/Skills:
- 3 years of lending experience.
- 3 years business development experience.
- Formal credit training.
- Advanced Degree
- Financial, Fintech, or Banking related experience
- Understands complex commercial banking relationships.
- Knowledgeable in commercial real estate and C & I lending practices.
- Knowledgeable in loan documentation requirements and government regulations for consumer, commercial and real estate loans.
- Ability and desire to work in a team environment
- Excellent administrative and PC skills to include Microsoft Office and analysis software products.
