Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Northfield, Illinois. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing billing, claims, collections, and appeals processes for medical services. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to healthcare operations and ensure accurate and efficient financial workflows.

Responsibilities:
• Process and submit medical claims accurately and in a timely manner to insurance providers and other payers.
• Handle collections for outstanding balances and follow up on unpaid claims to ensure timely resolution.
• Investigate and resolve claim denials through detailed analysis and appeals processes.
• Manage billing procedures for hospital services, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to verify patient information and coverage eligibility.
• Utilize Epic Software and other electronic medical records (EMR) systems to maintain accurate billing records.
• Address billing inquiries and complaints from patients and insurance companies with professionalism and efficiency.
• Prepare financial reports and summaries related to billing activities as needed.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate team or supervisor for further action.
• Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in medical billing and claims processing.• Proven experience in medical billing, claims, and collections within a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical denials and appeals processes.
• Familiarity with hospital billing and related compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in using Epic Software and other electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex billing issues.
• Strong communication and customer service skills to address inquiries and complaints.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and billing standards.
