Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Set Up Operator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating slitting and laminating machines, performing machine setups, and ensuring quality standards are met. The role requires flexibility in working hours, with initial training during morning shifts before transitioning to a second shift schedule.
Responsibilities
- Operate slitting and laminating machines according to production orders, job specifications, and quality standards.
- Perform machine setups, job changeovers, and adjustments, including knives, tension, web guides, and rewind systems.
- Verify slit widths, roll diameters, alignment, web tension, and overall roll quality.
- Continuously monitor the process to prevent defects such as telescoping, edge damage, wrinkles, or width variation.
- Conduct daily inspections of slitter components, including rollers, knives, brakes, and sensors.
- Identify minor equipment issues and promptly report mechanical or electrical problems.
- Support maintenance activities during scheduled or unscheduled downtime.
Essential Skills
- Experience with slitter, lamination, or converting operations.
- Ability to operate and set up slitter machines.
- Proficiency with micrometers and calipers.
- Understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

Work Environment
Work in a cleanroom environment with access to larger presses. The role involves a second shift schedule from 5pm to 5:30am, (Mon-Thurs or Tues -Thurs) with training initially conducted in the morning.

This is a Permanent position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.97 - $22.97/hr.
