WORK SCHEDULE:
Available shifts:

- Sunday thru Wednesday 8:00 AM 1:45 PM; or
- Sunday thru Wednesday 1:15 PM 7:00 PM
Standard Daily Responsibilities:
- 15 minutes Check-in with theOperations Manager.
- 60 minutes Facilitate alow-intensity residential treatment group sessionfor the first set of 9 clients.
- 60 minutes Document all group sessions inICANotesusingW7310 + RESRBcoding.
- 15 minutes Break.
- 60 minutes Conduct one of the following services based on scheduling assignments:
- Telehealth intake (H0001)for a new client.
- Telehealth initial session (90791)for a new client.
- Follow-up telehealth session (90791)for a non-3.1 client (within the past 6 months).
- Follow-up telehealth session (H0001)for a non-3.1 client (not completed within the past 6 months).
- In-person individual sessionfor a 3.1 client who has not had an individual session that week.
- All sessions must be documented in ICANotes during the session.
- 15 minutes Break.
- 60 minutes Facilitate alow-intensity residential treatment group sessionfor the remaining 9 clients.
- 60 minutes Document all group sessions inICANotesusingW7310 + RESRBcoding.
- 15 minutes Check-out with theOperations Manager.
COMPENSATION RANGE:$25 - $40 per hour, W2 employees are eligible for benefits: health insurance, professional development opportunities, and paid time off. Mileage reimbursement for preapproved mileage.

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:The Addiction Counselor will provide therapeutic services to clients at three residential treatment program locations, ensuring high-quality care in alignment with program goals. The counselor will be responsible for conducting one 45-60-minute session per day at each location and collaborating with supervisors and program directors to optimize client outcomes.
This position requires the counselor to adhere to a structured weekly schedule, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in supervisory and operational check-ins.
SCHEDULED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Counseling Services:
- Facilitate group counseling sessions at three designated locations as per the weekly schedule.
- Address addiction recovery, coping mechanisms, and relapse prevention in therapy sessions.
- Tailor sessions to meet the unique needs of clients, ensuring evidence-based approaches are utilized.
Supervision and Collaboration:
- Participate in scheduled weekly check-ins with the Counseling Supervisor every Wednesday.
- Collaborate with the OMHC/SUD Operations Manager and Program Director for additional tasks as needed.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Accurately document client sessions, treatment plans, and progress reports in alignment with organizational policies.
- Submit documentation promptly to maintain compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
Travel and Coordination:
- Travel to designated residential treatment locations as per the daily schedule.
- Coordinate effectively between locations to maintain punctuality and consistency in service delivery.
UNSCHEDULED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist supervisor with work-related requests.
- Collaborate with and serve as program POC for external treatment providers and outside agencies as needed.
- Responsible for following regulations of COMAR, CARF, any other regulatory body, and company policies/ procedures related to service delivery and documentation and co-facilitating orientation of all new hires to these as well.
- Support the maintenance of a safe environment by participating in training and drills as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients treatment.
- Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/CSA/OHCQ) as directed by the supervisor.
- Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement plans by completing periodic audits or other activities to ensure regulatory compliance and/or improve service delivery.
- Ensure the medical director or clinical supervisor reviews and co-signs documents as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Regularly walk, stand, or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and regularly drives a motor vehicle.
WORKING CONDITIONS:Work is performed in an office, in clients homes or in the community; Work exposes incumbent to contagious or infectious diseases; Work may expose incumbent to dangerous and volatile situations; which could result in bodily injury.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Proven working experience in counseling, including as a nurse, medical, mental health care manager, or a related job
- Excellent knowledge of psychotherapeutic principles, healthcare management, and reimbursement
- Previous experience with psychological aspects of care

LEVEL OF EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
Licensure/Certification:
To be eligible for this contract, the contractor must holdvalid Maryland licensure, including one of the following:
