Regional Eyecare Associates is an optometric practice that focuses on specialized eye care for our patients. Our motto is “We Serve. You’ll See”. A front desk associate or “medical receptionist” of Regional Eyecare Associates encompasses the responsibilities of a variety of different job titles. These may include but are not limited to scheduling patient appointments, answering phone calls, prepping insurance and directing overall flow of the office. Those in this position report to their individual store manager.

Location: Wentzville

Status: Full Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee office flow of patients and delegate the technicians and opticians to keep the doctor on time
  • Schedule appointments (online/phone/in person) in appropriate slots
  • Understand basic eye anatomy/knowledge
  • Work in a fast paced environment
  • Take contact lens sales and quote prices with and without insurance
  • Fax/Email patient information through a secure database in a timely manner
  • Pull insurance authorizations for patients in the office (sales & appointments)
  • Understand the difference between medical and vision insurances
  • Prepare and update daily patient schedules accurately (insurance, paperwork)
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Work as a team with fellow employees to provide great customer service and a positive work environment

    • Ability to multitask while working quickly and effectively
    • Attention to detail
    • Professional, courteous and friendly demeanor when interacting with patients, both in person and on the phone
    • Excellent interpersonal communication to work as a team with other members of the organization and with patients
    • Basic computer, copier, printer skills required
    • Positive attitude
    • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
    • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly into a telephone
    • Ability to sit for long periods of time: a significant amount of desk/computer work
    • Maintain HIPAA compliance
