Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in a 24-bed ICU.
- Manage invasive monitoring devices, including central and arterial lines, and assist with rapid sequence intubations and bronchoscopy procedures.
- Administer and monitor complex therapies such as ventilator management, vasopressor administration, and restraint protocols.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and maintain detailed documentation through EPIC systems.
- Adhere to staffing schedules that include straight night shifts or a 50/50 split, with a requirement of three weekend shifts in a four-week period.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid Utah RN license required at time of submission.
- Minimum of 1-2 years ICU experience, with a preference for cardiac nursing expertise.
- Proficiency in critical care nursing procedures, including arterial line placement, central line insertions, and advanced airway management.
- Current ACLS certification mandatory.
- Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment, with an outgoing and cooperative demeanor.
Additional Information:
- Unit staffing includes a ratio of 1:2 patients, with adjustments for higher acuity such as 1:1 for invasive procedures and sitters.
- Support from unit secretaries and tech staff available during day shifts.
- Dress code requires Caribbean Blue scrubs.
- Opportunities to float to Progressive Care Unit and other inpatient areas as needed.
