Position Summary
The Program Director, Allied Health Programs, serves as the chief administrator for DBI’s Allied Health programs (Medical Assistant, Medical Office, Medical Office Specialist – Billing & Coding, Nurse Aide, and additional allied health offerings). This leadership role is responsible for academic direction, faculty supervision, student outcomes, enrollment support, compliance with accreditation standards, and the daily operations of all allied health programs.
The Director will ensure programs meet institutional goals, accreditation requirements, workforce demands, and community expectations while maintaining a student-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership & Program Management
- Provide vision, leadership, and strategic planning for Allied Health programs.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and state agencies.
- Oversee scheduling of classes, labs, and externship rotations.
- Manage faculty recruitment, orientation, professional development, and evaluation.
· Lead curriculum development, revision, and implementationto ensure alignment with workforce requirements, industry certifications, and accreditor standards.
- Oversee curriculum implementation, faculty assignments, course delivery, and assessment.
- Teach assigned courses to maintain direct engagement with students and faculty.
· Oversee program and course outcomes assessment, recommending updates based on student performance data, employer feedback, and accreditation guidance.
· Ensure effective delivery of courses, labs, and externships, and that instructional materials remain current and relevant.
- Monitor student progress, retention, employment outcomes and licensure outcomes(where applicable).
Enrollment & Student Success
- Provide oversight and partner with Admissions to achieve enrollment targets while ensuring student quality and fit.
- Support student recruitment activities including interviews, campus tours, orientations, and community events.
- Ensure accurate advising and onboarding of new students into Allied Health programs.
- Collaborate with student services to enhance student engagement, persistence, and completion.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Standard office and classroom environment.
- Ability to work (on campus) on a 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule subject to change due to business needs.
Compliance & Accreditation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditor regulations (ACCSC, state licensing, and programmatic accrediting bodies).
- Leadership in preparation of self-studies, annual reports, and site visit materials.
- Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory submissions.
Operations & Leadership
- Serve as a key member of DBI’s management team, reporting to the CEO & School Director.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Allied Health programs, including scheduling, budgeting, and staff management.
- Lead program advisory committee (PAC) meetings and build partnerships with employers and externship sites.
- Ensure adherence to DBI policies, Employee Handbook guidelines, and Code of Conduct.
- Promote a culture of accountability, student-centered service, and continuous improvement.
