Providing personalized support to students with diverse learning needs in an educational setting is a critical role that helps foster academic and social success. This onsite paraprofessional opportunity involves working within a high school environment in Wilkes Barre, PA, where you will contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for students requiring additional assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with personal care and daily activities to support their educational experience
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement individualized student plans
• Monitor student behavior and assist in maintaining a positive classroom environment
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs
• Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on student progress as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience as a paraprofessional or personal care aide in a school setting preferred
• Completion of Pennsylvania credentialing requirements, including:
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
  • FBI Fingerprinting Clearance (Act 114)
  • Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Certification (Act 126)
  • 2-Step TB Test or Quantiferon TB Blood Test
  • Act 168 paperwork for prior employers worked with children (if applicable)
  • Physical examination within 60 days of start date
  • PA State Police background check (PATCH/Act 134)
  • Drug screening upon assignment
• Male candidates preferred based on client request
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to support students in a respectful, patient, and professional manner
