Position Summary
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for driving new business growth and achieving or exceeding revenue and profit targets. This role plays a key part in expanding AFSG’s market presence through strategic sales initiatives and relationship building.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic marketing and business development plans to drive new revenue growth aligned with company goals
- Analyze and understand assigned markets, including competitors, contract landscapes, and growth opportunities
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of competitors, including strengths, weaknesses, pricing strategies, and market activity
- Generate leads, coordinate site visits, attend bid walks, and prepare/respond to RFPs using company templates
- Utilize company pricing models to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates
- Represent AFSG at trade shows, industry events, and business associations; participate in relevant committees
- Maintain and manage a robust pipeline and prospect database using AFSG’s CRM system
- Track all sales activity, proposals, and contract statuses
- Negotiate and close new business contracts, ensuring smooth transition to operations
- Oversee and manage contracts brought in, ensuring operational and financial performance meets expectations
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–7 years of proven sales experience in contract facility services or custodial services
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong background in building and maintaining long-term client relationships
- Operations experience in facility services is a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred

Work Environment
- Combination of field and office work
- Regular travel to client sites and prospects across the region

- Travel may be extensive depending on assigned territory
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and transport marketing materials and trade show equipment
- Ability to sit, drive, or walk for extended periods
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Compensation
- Base Salary: $72,000 + generous commission structure (negotiable)
- Base salary is tied to achieving defined monthly bidding benchmarks
- 90-day probationary period with clear performance expectations
